Hi, I have a few questions, if anyone can help me please?
Do I need to take my car and key to a stand or garage, for them to change the battery on my key fob, or is it a job we can do it ourselves? And what battery is best?
Also, after do we need to reset it somehow? If so how?
I don't want to try and o it myself, as a friend done that, and then the key didn't work at all not even to put ignition on.
Thank you

Car key battery change
Re: Car key battery change
The battery is consumable (CR2016), not rechargeable. It is only used for the remote locking/unlocking and is not involved in starting the car. When you open the fob, be careful not to lose the small black plastic chip clipped into the case shell - it is the immobiliser chip. If lost, the car cannot start.
If the battery is changed reasonably quickly, the fob should work without a problem. If, however, it loses synchronism with the car, it should be resynchronised:
Switch off the ignition.
Switch the ignition on again.
Press the large button immediately for a few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remove the remote control key from the ignition lock.
The remote control is now working again.
