CD-R compatibility?

Why did the dealer say I couldn't insert any CD-Rs into the car stereo? My friend's CC's stereo got messed up due to that... is this really true?

I've always used them with no troubles. (As long as it's burnt audio and not mp3s).

always use branded cd-r/rw as the cheaper silver top ones can get too hot sometimes and the silver foil stuff peeled off :shock: only once in me normal 206 i may add

i dont own any non home made cds.. well ok i own a few that i bought back when i was about 12.... so all mine are cd r's n i have never had any problems!
