help for a dummy please

Hey guys
Simply i do not know anything about audio systems and i am looking to upgrade my 206cc my friend said he had a sub and it sounded great i wanted something like that but where do i start and how do i set one up simply lol? My headunit seems decent its a pioneer deh-6400bt but my speakers are rubbish and thats all i know im not looking to spend loads of money and cant afford all in one go but where should i start? Thanks guys its a 2003 206cc 1.6 thanks

I would start with decent speakers that will take the power of any future amps etc: Then upgrade the rest as you can afford it.
