lady in distress 206cc 2001model radio change

hi there, so im trying to change my stereo from rd1 to a kenwood, i have purchased all wires and iso needed plus the patch wire for steering wheel controls, it all makes sense and i understand how to do it , my problem is how do i locate the wire coming from the car that is my steering wheel control wire, i dont see labels on the wires ????or are they already attached and i need to connect the wire coming from the stereo harness which i have clearly labelled this?

Remove the column surround and follow the cables back ...

You may need to swap the red and yellow power feed wires to the new radio .. we did on our 2001 with a Sony ...

Yes. a few screws but they might be torx screws thinking about it. They go in up through the bottom half of the plastic surround. It's been a couple of years since I did this and didn't write it down .. but we also didn't bother with the remote stalk on my daughter's ...

Just thought id let u all-know the wire I was looking for was actually on my stereo wires so was in the car and had it fitteđ in less than 10 minutes with all my steering wheel controls working, not so bad for a blonde after all thank you for ur help!! Next problem is sorting out my cigarette lighter not working problem
