Aux Cable

Post by Covbandit »

Just got my Daughter a very nice 206 convertible with only 12K on the clock (genuine).

She has stopped using the family Fiesta now as a result but did used to like the Aux cable plug for her iPhone. It had a plug that went into the back of the radio and a neat factory type plug that mounted near the gear stick. I presume if I buy one of these, the connectors will be different, but can I swap the Ford end for the correct Peugeot one?

Anyone know a part number?

Here a you tube vid to see what I'm on about and an ebay auction for the lead and aux socket. It saves having ugly wires trailing about or shoved into glove box.

What age is the car? With only 12k my guess would after 2002! It's just before 2001 and after 2002 the radios are different and the wiring system changes.

My guess is the radio doesn't have its own screen and uses the top multi-function display?

Thank's for those. The reg is a 56

I got fed up looking for Fiestas and when you thought you had found a good one they were cat c or d
So fed up I entered 3000k in the max price 15000 max miles and about 3 popped up this being one of them

I didn't like the place I bought it from and lots of reservations,"it can't be genuine" I kept saying but up to now proved wrong.

She found something in the car and Facebooked it and came out to be an older Lady

Sounds a brilliant buy! The right time of year to get it when prices bottom.

Can't help with your question - I don't have an iPhone and have never used an Aux cable. Sorry!

Welcome to the forum by the way.

OK ... I guess right.

This is what is known as a Multiplex system car .. a bit like the new canbus wiring systems.

The radio/CD should be an RD3 (probably Clarion).

Unfortunately not one I've played with apart from reconfiguring mine to use rear speakers and allowing MW/LW ...

But if you don't get any info here, there is a good community on 206info.co.uk that may be able to help. If you do decide the easiest way is to replace the head-unit, you will need access to PP2000 to configure the original radio out of the BSI system. These are programmed in and the radio is linked to the system for security. The car gets upset if the radio is removed ...

Found this at Halfords which would sort most of my Daughters issues out.
Do any of you have any other suggestions, and would Halfords be able to fit it so as it sorts the PP2000 issue out mentioned in previous post

Halfords Cat code: 153183

That's about their level.
A mate of mine is an MOT tester, and he has never failed so many cars on defective beam patterns since they started fitting bulbs.

They would not have a clue what PP2000 was ... And god knows the damage they could do with it ...

I can't even get them to sell me the right oil for the Alfa ... I don't try anymore after the first and only attempt ... And batteries. No chance ...

How bigs the Corvette Col?

Had 2 mates with them 20 years or so ago (shite nearer 30...actually 32  ), one was a 350 auto the other had the 427 in a manual. Ended in tears on ever so slightly damp night.
Mates 350 (regretted selling TR6 ever since) was like another mates Triumph Stag also an auto, luverly noise but no UMPH. Had lots of brake fade though......
