Hello everyone,

If you remember from my grumblings a while ago, I bought my 206cc from Micronet Showrooms and paid for a CC with a sports pack fitted.

Well I did get the car, but it had no sports pack!

I have been negotiating ever since trying to get them to pay to have the pack fitted (which they originally verbally agreed to do)

I have now given up with negotiating (I had even offered to settle for £200, but they didn't pay up!!), and moved on to trying to get my deposit back via my credit card company.

However during the course of this, from this website, I found the news articles on www.thisisnottingham.co.uk (search "micronet") there are now 3 articles about the ongoing case of the directors being charged for £2 million fraud.

Not sure how I will fair with getting damages for the missing sports pack, but will keep the forum updated.

In the meantime I would not recommend having any dealings with Micronet, especially as there is a reasonably chance that they may go into liquidation fairly shortly!

PS: My brakes have developed the highly irritating squeaking problem!!!!

Yeah, but Lyndon's sticky thread is a little more complimentary about them than this thread which provides more of a warning.

Well may be useful as a sticky- I certainly wouldn't recommend handing a deposit to a company with alleged £2 million fraud charges!!

(Although apparently they were mainly scamming Porche buyers!)

On the bright side I did actually get my cc....

March edition of What Car- page 73 also carried a column about Micronet.

It cites a man quoted a 36 week wait for a BMW X5 3.OL Sport Auto who didn't mind the wait cos he was guaranteed a 7,500k saving on list price.

A year later having paid a £5,450 deposit he is still waiting. Several slipped delivery dates have gone by and on 2 occasions he was promised a refund but received nothing.

What Cars intervention has brought the matter no further forward after they were referrerd to the companies lawyers.

I've put some postings on the Google groups about Micronet, I was gonna get my CC from them but had loads of hassle, fortunately I changed my mind, never signed their contract, that was at the beginning of Feb 2004 just had an email from one of the "partners" saying I can have my full deposit refunded to my credit card - this is only after I've sent 2 letters quoting my rights as a consumer (My local CAB were brilliant) My credit card company couldn't do anything !!!

I wouldn't recommend anyone to get a car from them.

Both people on the site as owners are held on Companies House website as being disqualified directors which can't be good.

Fingers crossed I get the money back - if not I will not hesitate in taking them to small claims or whatever I have to.

I hope for my sake and other peoples that it's just that they're customer service skills are very slack !!!!!

Hi

I too placed an order through Micronet at the beginning of 2005 year. After numerous chasing emails/calls to find out the expected delivery date of this car, they finally said the car ordered had been delivered incorrectly. :(

I was lucky - I got the money I paid back - it took months to resolve. AVOID at all costs.
