Eye See, the 206CC was my first new car after 14 years of driving. A nice car let down by the manufacturer and the dealer

Shame on you Blacksahws of Burton-upon-Trent.

Eye See - I'm in correspondence with Black Horse Finance because I'm not happy with them either. I definitely wouldn't use them again. My problem is that Motorpoint was "economical with the truth" when advising me what their interest rate was! Anyone else feel conned?

I think I am beginning to agree with you about WW Brent Cross. I am still waiting for my CC from them and they have been pretty useless so far. Once I FINALLY get it, I hope it doesnt go wrong as I do not want to take it back there.

NikkiC,

IF it goes wrong, (and I hope it doesn't), take it back to them.

We didn't. After 3 unsuccessful attempts by Camdens of Bedford to resolve the problems on our list saved for the 6 month service, we tried (and are still trying) to reject the car.

Unfortunately, you have to reject it through the supplying dealer which in our case was WWBX and give them 'chances' to fix it. They have had our car for 2 weeks and 4 days and despite numerous phone calls will not tell us what they have done to it!

Anyway, when you get your car, enjoy! We agree with what others have said. It is a great car despite any Peugeot gremlins it may have!

(PS How many weeks were you quoted, how long have you waited and how long have you got to go?)

We have no problems with the finance deal we got. Warwick Wright Brent Cross arranged it for us, (8.2%APR last October on 2/3 of the value of the car). However, we were told by WWBX that the acceptance fee was £90 and they charged us £95, and they forgot to tell us about the £50 purchase fee at the end!

Our problem with Black Horse is that they have put no pressure on Warwick Wright Brent Cross and left it all to us!

We will get them! Our day will come .... soon ... when WWBX pull their finger out and tell us what they are doing to our car!

If Motorpoint was, and I quote "economical with the truth" when it comes to APR levels then report it to Trading Standards. The consumer credit act 1974 states the details must be clear.....take them to the cleaners.

I went into the main Vauxhall dealer in Sheffield about 3 years ago to help my sister buy a new car. I had to be present due to a staff discount scheme that EDS run.

Well anyway the guy was telling her finance figures and I asked what the APR was. He said he didnt know. I said that we needed to know to comapre other offers. He said it was very tricky to work out.

Then I piped up that I had trained as an accountant ad it was a simple formula to calculate it.

The sales man stood up and threw his paper work at me (literally) and stormed off. We left and so did everyone else in the showroom

When we got home I worked out the APR, it was over 30%.

Thieving Barsteward - I wonder how many other people he conned.

Hmmm sounds like the toyota dealer we went to when we wanted a MR2. They tried to force us into a deal eventhough we said from the begining that we wouldn't make a decision on the that day.

When asked about the APR and the best deal they could offer, the YTS salesman got the finance manager, who came storming out and he tried to bull shit us and said the offer only stood if we signed that day, said we couldn't write down the figures as the interest rate was always changing.

Told him what i thought of his bully tactics and he said he had sold hundreds of cars that week, after a slagging match i chucked his pen at him and walked out giving him a couple of fingers and a few words of abuse.

Unsurprisingly the dealership has now closed down.

As per my 'edit' of my 1st post on this topic, Black Horse Finance came good in the end.

We eventually agreed with the London Area Operations Manager of Robins & Day Ltd who own Warwick Wright Brent Cross to sell our 49 week old car back to them at showroom price, just £1470 less than the full list price we paid.

We thought we would have to pay Black Horse the full settlement figure and incur the majority of the interest that should have been incurred had we seen the full 36 months out.

But no! They are refunding all our payments in full! All we would have paid to them is the £95 document fee.

Great! Thank you Alison Griffiths in Black Horse's QA Department in Cardiff!
