Definitely recommend the 2.0 over the 1.6.

as above, definitely the 2.0 as it's a decent match of power to body weight - the 1.6 I found underpowered

2.0 is a bit of a guzzler though if your worried about miles. 1.6 is quick enough if you're not a boy racer.

I get 36mpg on bp unledded, 31.5 on sainsburys hehe, that's a mixture of normal and hard driving...so it's not too bad

if you can afford a newer model then the 110bhp hdi one sounds good, they give around 48mpg and have a fair enough of torque

Good choice Trouble. The 1.6 is economical and good to drive with enough power to be fun. You are clearly happy with the price you've paid, and if the car is a good one which has been looked after, you are looking forward to a glorious summer. Just watch those heads turn as you put the roof down sitting at the traffic lights! ENJOY !!! Best Wishes, and welcome to 206CC ownership - Ron
