Instrument Cluster - Replacement

Post by davyrob »

Hello - I have a 206 CC in Spain - says on the documents 2001. When I take out the instrument cluster it has two main cables going into it and you can replace all the bulbs.

But when I look on ebay for a replacement unit - they are all with just one cable and a different design without any bulbs that can be replaced.

Does anyone know the difference ? And what I should be looking for as a replacement unit.

My main problem is dead pixels on the mileometer.

Many thanks - Dave

This is the only one i can find on ebay and its not mine.

This video shows a removal of the display that I have - he undoes 2 cables.

After 2001 Peugeot moved to the multiplex (CanBus) system so you need to get the right version as they are NOT interchangable.

Multiplex/Canbus uses the same wire for multiple uses so doesn't need as many.

One of the labels on the rear should ave the part number .. you will need to match that.

Just to mention that, if the speedo reading on any cluster you buy is higher than your car's, the system will adopt the higher value, and that cannot be undone by reverting to the original cluster.
