Have you tried putting up manually?

He needs to get to the pump to depressurise, but he can't access the boot :(

Second thoughts: Is that true? If the roof is not fully closed, the boot lid will be tilted up, and you should be able to get in and operate the pressure release.

The procedure is given in the Owners Manual, and there are demos on YouTube.

The pull cord was dropped from the design early in the production run. Later versions of the owners manual tell you what to do instead.

If you don't have the manual, go to http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/APddb/, choose language car, model and date bracket.

Have you looked through the Roof section of the Problems forum? You may find some useful help there.
