You might be unlucky .. CC is 1100kg max ..

I'd hate to try as that rear suspension is soft with the torsion bars already. That weight will have the rear end scraping on the road.

The handbook does allow towing, subject to a Peugeot towbar being fitted.

Petrol engines 1100 kg, diesel 900kg for braked trailer. Unbraked only 600 kg for both.

I wouldn't want to tow a caravan with a 206CC even within the limits (and I do a lot of towing)

Hi,
I would have thought the diesel would have more power at lower engine revs. I guess they chose a transmission more in favour of lower revs?

Cheers,
Iain.

I think it may be that the diesel engine weighs more, so reducing the trailer weight to maintain the same GVW.

Correct Ian. My last Mercedes Vito had a bigger payload / towing weight than the current one. Earlier was 2.2 4 cyl / current is 3.0 V6

Depends on the weight distribution, You don't want too much downforce on the tow ball, especially as the boot is likely to be loaded.

I think you may be over the max un- braked weight. Check on the link above (as well as reading other comments)
At least a trailer tent hasn't got as much windage as a caravan.
