Coolant temperature issues Peugeot 2006 2003

Post by Peter JD »

Coolant temperature issues

Question 1 There are 2 coolant senors on a Peugeot, the front senor has 2 wire connection
The second senor at the bottom right of the block (blue colour) Is showing 1 wire is this correct??
If yes how can I check its working correctly.
Question 2
While driving the Peugeot 206 2003 for 30 40 min the WARNING red stop light come on, and the temperature
gauge jumps from 50/70 hits the roof at 90 and above.

I turn the engine off for 5 seconds and continue for another 40min, then temperature hit the roof again

I changed the top front senor?

Any advise would be a great help
Thank
Peter

Don't think the one on the block is a coolant sensor .. might be oil temp .. coolant sensors are always at the higher points.

Could be an airlock or you might need a new thermostat if you fitted the correct sensor .. the one in the thermostat housing.

The blue sensor on the Block Part No 024286 is a coolant temperature sensor and has a single wire attachment; the other conductor is the earth of the engine. This listing shows it is an overheat warning switch, not a continuous measurement sensor.

The green sensor is the one which continuously measures the coolant temperature.
