I found that doing like Gazza says and elevating the hub slightly with a jack works, whilst using a long bar to place some downward pressure on the suspension arm and tapping the pinch bolt housing / hub knuckle with a hammer is usually enough to get it out. Some lubricant spray can help too.
Don't whale on it like you're trying to win a strong man contest, you'll break something, but a firm fair tapping is usually enough to see it right.
It really does help to support the hub, especially if you're working on the floor, as you just enough up pulling on the slack in the suspension leg otherwise.
