Re: Low Riding Rear
Thank you for the info. When i took the suspension apart I measured a datum for re-assembly. This was a 205mm measure. When we had eventually freed everything of and replaced bearings I could only get a measure of 185mm or 235 mm. decided on the lower measure to reduce the ride height a little. On r...

Re: Low Riding Rear
The feeling you get when someone confirms what you already knew but were hoping you didn't So I don't suppose anyone can tell me the standard distance between the bump stops and the plate. I bet its more than 2 cms

Low Riding Rear
Ok so after changing the bearings on the swing arms on the back of my Pug it is sitting very low. The problem was that everything was so seized up that I don't think the arms were in their correct position when measured. I have about 2cm between the bump stop and the plate it lands on. The good thin...

Re: Can I disconnect the battery for SORNed 206cc?
If you disconnect the positive you can put the battery box cover back on with the lead outside it so it can't accidentally reconnect. Glad i read all this as I have been unwittingly playing Russian roulette with my BSI whilst fixing my radio and airbags  I would also take the battery out of th...

Re: Rear Struts or bearings
Having done the bearings the hard way (taking off arms not just getting a recon axle) I reckon the axle is a much better bet. I had 12 hrs of hammering with a mate to do it. You would be better off with two of you to do the axle if you have a handy friend. You will probably have to heat the torx bol...

Re: Hi From the Sunny NEast
Thanks for the welcomes. Just thought I would post a quick picture of the pulling tool we fashioned to get the seized trailing arm off.

Airbag Light is now off
After the epic that was the changing of rear axle bearings I thought that I would tackle my airbag light. Found smashed plug under drivers seat that I replaced with the blanking plug from the passenger side (with terminals carefully re-inserted). Light still on :( . Had diagnostic when in garage for...

Hi From the Sunny NEast
So we have a new car and its time to join a new forum. :D Bought a 05 plate 206cc with the red and black leather interior and the 1.6cc petrol engine. It was very cheap as it had airbag light and squeaky rear axle. Airbag was the stalk unit that had gone bad which was not a terrible job. decided to ...
