Hi, thanks for your replies. I don't need to change anything as there are no faulty components. I just wanted the option to kick the fan in a bit sooner.

Hi Guys
So far I have found out that the boot light switch is not a striker plate type switch but in fact a level switch which is located in the boot lid somewhere. Does anyone know where this switch is located and how I get to it.

Hi Slo, thanks for that. Once I remove the back panel on the inside of the boot lid, what am I looking for. Where abouts is the switch located please?
