Re: Hello from the Derbyshire/Notts border.

That sounds like Aegean Blue (the paint code is on a label on one of the driver's side door pillars - I think you'll find it's "KMF").
Great mileage for an 05 plate car.
Anyway, welcome Jon. If you need any help I'm not far from you.

Re: steering issues

Does it feel OK to you? Might be worth getting a second opinion. Doesn't sound like anything's wrong to me - he was probably just finding excuses.

Low tyre pressures? Low PAS fluid level? Total wimp of a driver?

Re: My Wifes got a lovely pair!

Ah, so you're Dromong! You're right - it has changed a bit, for a few reasons. I've been out of it for a while due to a combination of mine being off the road, a son to bring up and lots of other car projects that took priority over the last 4 years. But now I have the "new old" one I have...

Re: My Wifes got a lovely pair!

Ohhh, I await with anticipation. if you've stumbled across a viable A-pillar seal solution, you're going to make a lot of damp-trousered people very happy! Sounds like it's an absolute peach. That's a decent mod on the brakes. Apparently EBC Greenstuffs used to take a bit of heating up so could scar...

Re: Potential Owner - What to look for?

Nope - it was all J-strips and it went back together with cable ties. 2 1/2 years and 50,000 miles later, still working and my bum hasn't fallen through and hit the floor yet! Probably will do tomorrow now that I've said so though!!! :big-grin:

Re: Potential Owner - What to look for?

In the ZS? Yeah, dead easy because they were an optional extra, so the wiring looms were already in place for them, and there were sockets and spaces ready for the switches and relays to simply plug into. The seats had to come out and have the covers removed to get the elements installed, but I used...

Re: My Wifes got a lovely pair!

Oh ya beauty! As it happens I just got my second one at the weekend. Neither currently look as good as that one, but they will! If it's not already been done, get a couple of 1ft lengths of seatbelt webbing, and stick them on the inside of the roof near the top rear corner of the windows - ...

Re: Potential Owner - What to look for?

I converted my seats in the ZS to heated ones - partly because I hated the switch blanks in the dash, but also as a lifesaver because the engine is such a big heavy lump that it takes miles to warm up! Once the Elan's up and running again I may get another set and put them in that too.

Re: Roof / Radio / Console display

You need to find and get a decent and CORRECT battery specifically for a 206CC. Ones for the standard 206 are too short (although if you can find out the difference between the 2 sizes you may be able to pack one up from underneath - however it may not be secure). Then you need to follow the proper ...

Re: Front & rear lights

Highly likely. Can you easily plug back in you old lights, even if they are just resting in the boot?
If so and your problem is solved, then you have your answer.

Re: Potential Owner - What to look for?

Nah, the main roof problems we see on here are either from lack of exercise or self-inflicted issues caused by new users who didn’t read the manual. It’s not recommended to operate the roof without the engine running, or to stop it mid cycle. I'd advise regular usage to stop any of the micro-switche...

Re: aircon is not working :(

Ah right - in that case you should be able to find a garage that will test and re-gas your system for possibly as little as £35. My local garage has an automatic machine which tests the system for leaks with a vacuum pump. If it fails the pressure test the garage should be able to point out the leak...
