After a damp start to the day, clouds began to break around 10am, sunny spells developed and the cars started arriving for the Pride & Joy Display. Around 70 vehicles were exhibited in all ranging from the 1930's up to the present day with the Chrysler PT Cruiser Club displaying several nicely t...

Yes, that is the question. I'm used to the waving and headlamp flashing lark having owned an MGB with sporty black and white houndstooth flat cap but not a pipe and zip-up bootees. I have put my waving experience to good use recently. Response has been, poor I'm afraid. Let's be honest, most other 2...

Hi Mandy I've recently bought a 52 plate 1.6 and yes, I've read all the other entries and initially it does seem a rather worrying prospect owning a 206cc. I bought from a franchised dealership (Not Peugeot) and got a years warranty which is reassuring. In nearly a month of ownership I've had the ex...

Before trundling off to the garage, I checked the headlight bulbs and found that they looked a little wonky. Latex gloves on, bonnet up, nimble fingers sharpened and re-seat the bulbs and hey presto, main beam now works normally! Took car to garage re the exhaust and the centre box has blown. Good n...

It rained again, quite heavily but the good news is, it stayed outside and nothing came through the aerial fitting. Hoorah! Was out in the dark on Tuesday night and discovered that my Pug has the new main beam setting. This is really useful. It illuminates everything at the side of the car and above...

Just a little more info re the Picnic in the Park. Access to the site is in Church Road. There is a driveway along side the Library, on the left almost immediately having turned into Church Road. There are some speed bumps along this drive so if you are 'Low Slung' I suggest caution or plastic surge...

Yes indeedy, using a thin flathead screwdriver, released the courtesy light unit safely and then was able to release the rest of the housing. Again with flathead, removed metal plate on aerial unit, and low and behold the nut was exposed. However, tightening did not improve the seating of the aerial...

A lot of rain yesterday. 4 days into ownership and the car leaks! Just an ickle one through the aerial aperture into the courtesy light. Needs some sealant shoved in, should solve the problem. At least I know where it's coming in from. Apart from that the car is ace and the trip to Eastbourne was de...

Further to the car display in Biggin Hill on the 5th July, please let me know 206cc'ers if you're coming along so I can organise a club stand space for everyone.

Thanks a bunch

Hi Gutted KAM I've just recently bought a 206cc. Sorry to hear about your damp patch! Have you checked the seal on the drivers side above the quarter light window? Where the two meet they should overlap and not be tucked in. You'll need to lower the window to check. If you're unsure about what I mea...

The 206cc (1.6S Black) arrived at 3pm today, delivered by the dealership. Was told that the roof seals have now been replaced as the passenger footwell carpet was found to be rather damp after the recent rain. We'll see if that remedies the situation. Took her for a run, A21, M25, A25 and it goes ve...

With the arrival this Saturday of my 206cc I am in the process of selling my 1964 MGB Roadster in British Racing Green with steel disc wheels, black leather interior. No Rot on top or bottom. Tax exempt, etc etc. Have owned MG's since 2000 but owing to my wifes dislike of classic cars the B must now...

Thanks Ron. Had a chat with my son-in-law at the garage today. He's been given the job of doing the full vehicle check on the 206 and has told me that the car is in very good condition, very clean underneath and nothing that would suggest harsh use. He's replacing the rear exhaust box as there were ...

As a newcomer to the site I have been reading with a great deal of interest the various topics etc. I am taking delivery of my 52 plate black 206cc (63,000miles, 4 previous owners) this Saturday. but having read so many items about problem cars, leaks, squeeks and the rest, I feel a change of underp...
