Re: Residue on Headlight

Oops, I was thinking glass, so disregard if it's perspex. I found a recommendation for WD40. Spray, leave for 10 minutes, then rub it off. "Try in an inconspicuous place first". There are lots of other suggestions on the web. I struggle to see how WD40 would help .. it may make the lense ...

Re: Residue on Headlight

I think the 206 headlights are all "plastic" ..

You might want to try a headlight cleaning kit like Meguiars ... https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-c ... guiars-one

Re: E85

We've only got E5 and soon to get E10 in the UK ... and E10 is going to cause some older cars problems ..

E10 is destructive to some rubber hoses, seals and other important stuff in the fuel system!

Re: Passenger side windows travel in different directions

Hi Ian, I didn't reverse the connections on re-connection. The connector prevents this but I omitted to mention that I did try to connect it the other way round this morning but I couldn't get the contacts to connect. You should with the right tools be able to remove the pins and re-insert them in ...

Re: E10 Petrol

It can damage old rubber pipes and seals ... keep an eye out for odd leaks. Or just run it on the "super" equivalent fuels like Shell V-Power .. that's staying E5.

Re: Coolant level -206cc

It should be possible to see the level in dim light if a bright torch is held behind the bottle. If not, take the top off and use a dipstick. EDIT: I didn't spot that you said 2 litre. My advice applies to a 1.6, but it may work for yours. 2 litre is same as 1.6 .. impossible to see the coolant lev...

I think you can download a CD/DVD image from M$oft's website .. you might still need a licence key though ..

Re: Wheel arch cover coming away, how to fix?

I thought they were just called "inner wings" ..

I had to replace the fronts on our 206 hatchback .. very easy to do but the quality of the new ones was definitely lower .. harder plastic.

One of the rears came away on our CC ... now that was an interesting noise!

Re: Brake lines - replacement advice please

Brake lines are never usually that easy as they tend to run up behind the engine/gearbox and between parts that don't normally come off that easy. They have to reach the master cylinders, abs, etc .. and don't normally have a convenient joint as they are fitted at the factory before therest of the r...
