Re: Panels hard to find new
Only place I used for 206 panels has also gone out of business. It's probably second-hand now or an expert panel beater. Make sure you get the correct wings as some do not have the extra fairing around the wheel arch and don't line up properly with the bumper .. they might be the same as the hatchba...

Re: Instrument Cluster - Replacement
After 2001 Peugeot moved to the multiplex (CanBus) system so you need to get the right version as they are NOT interchangable.
Multiplex/Canbus uses the same wire for multiple uses so doesn't need as many.
One of the labels on the rear should ave the part number .. you will need to match that.

Re: Gearbox and clutch problems
Sounds like you may have a leak on the clutch slave cylinder. Pumping it to work possibly means air in the system, but you could simply try bleeding it first. Brake/clutch fluid needs to be changed every few years as it attracts moisture from the air which in turn means it compresses more easily and...

Re: Error code - p1160
Depends a lot on which code reader you use ..
Peugeots (and Citroen) really need PlanetPeugeot or a PSA specific code reader. Otherwise you end up chasing a code that isn't the correct one ..

Re: Lights, bells, and whistles.
Problem using a cheap scanner is that is rarely reports the right codes. So you could be changing parts that you don't need to. I had to buy a Sealey PSA specific one to get to the bottom of a couple of our Pug's issues. They are NLA so the only real option is to possibly try and get hold of an old ...

When ours packed up the roof switch had fried itself.
You have checked the retractable-away cover in the boot too? Sometimes it's the most obvious ... )check also the small micro-switch in the cover catch)

Re: Engine temp arrow showing wrong
Did you solve your problem as my gauge is on about 80-85 when car first started then goes to sound 105 when driving only a very short distance maybe two miles but when Bonnet opened there is no heat in compartment? Sounds like the temp sender. Had that on our 1.4. Car kept saying it was overheating...

Re: Lower control arm replacement.
I've done several arms in this way and it will go down low enough ... I agree the proper CC arms are harder due to the stiffer bushes (same as the GTi arms) ... I just cursed and sweated a bit more!! There is a factory-tool to do the same thin but you operate it at the side near the hub/discs. It ho...

Re: Lower control arm replacement.
I used a length of 2x3 timber .. wedged the end under the floor and pushed the arm down with the length of timber. I managed to push it down with a leg but you could use an assistant's boot! Also try and wedge a small chisel or wide flat screwdriver in the slot of the ball-joint opening as it can be...

Check the coil pack isn't one that doesn't like NGK spark plugs either (think it's the Sagem version).
