I love it when the evenings are still warm as I go for random drives down to Christchurch beach or a blast along the M27 up to Whiteley and back as a drive with the roof down on a warm evening with a good tune blasting out never fails to put a smile on my face :D There's a really good drive on the ...

Most people I've seen driving in convertibles wear hats of one form or another, bearing in mind a big wide-brimmed straw hat is not going to stay on long at speed! However, I saw a guy yesterday in a sunfire red '97 BMW 3 series convertible wearing a matching bright red baseball cap. He looked like ...

I've got a slight rattle where the front and rear windows meet on the drivers side, but not bad enough to concern me.

Looks like summers over now though, but what a glorious week it was! :D

I'm getting the anti-pollution fault and catalytic convertor fault from time to time and the engine management light comes on. It's most likely to happen on cold morning but I find it's less likely if I have the A/C on. If I get the fault the engine mis-fires quite badly, but having taken it for dia...

I think it's more to do with where I am or where I'm going. If I'm going to work in the morning I don't put the roof down or if I'm only going on a short journey (less than half an hour) or a long journey on the motorway I don't. If I'm going anywhere that's not on the motorway and will take me more...

I had a very similar problem on mine. Once the coilpack and spark plugs are replaced, try taking it to a Nationwide Autocentre and get them to run diagnostics on it. They charge a £50 flat fee for diagnostics, no matter how long it takes, you can get a discount with AA membership. The next thing to ...

Mine got up to 31 on Sunday, but cooled down a bit once I got in the car and started driving. What a blinding weekend though, drove round Southampton with the roof down and got some very envious looks from non-convertible owners sitting in the dark! :D

I've literally just bought one and the things I checked were: Engine running smoothly - mis-fires seem common and can be caused by the CAT, Coilpack or lambda sensors. Roof goes up and down without hiccups - if the battery is low or flat, make sure the engine is running when putting the roof up or d...

Sounds like mis-fires are a common problem on the 206! I think the first check and possibly the easiest would be the lambda sensors. I know some guys on here have checked their own, but I'm a mechanical numpty and would get them checked by a mechanic. Although it's fairly easy, the car may need to g...

The spanner symbol and the number is the number of miles until your next service is needed. If the engine is in limp-home mode, I would imagine the yellow engine management light (top right-hand corner of the dials) would come on? well worth taking it to a mechanic. Nationwide Autocentre do a £50 di...

How did they check the tappets? Not sure, they said they'd found a recorded fault on cylinder 3 so they checked all the tappets but couldn't find a fault. I suspect faulty lambda sensors would affect the fuel/air mixture causing one of the cylinders to misfire until it warmed up. I'm guessing the l...

I drove my 206cc home from work today with the roof down. First sunny day for a little while and I don't think I could ever buy another non-convertible.

I saw a BMW 1 series convertible the other day and I think that is going to be my next car in 3 years.

ok, this is odd. I've got the polystyrene box (which I haven't opened yet - must check this), the plastic sack thing and another hard-plastic case with a jack in it. I'll take some pics and post them to show you all. I think I may have gained something extra?

I got excited briefly, then saw it from another angle and wasn't so sure. It looks good, but has anyone seen one "in the flesh" yet?
