Had to 'negotiate' a settlement. Finally agreed on 7 pence per mile at 6550 miles aka £450, which turned out to be less than any depreciation, although we had no compensation.

I agree with Pauline, no need to have a spare to pass the MOT test, but if you do have one it has to have a legal tyre. (so take it out before you take it to the garage!!!!!)

If rejecting the car, the dealer is only legally obliged to give you all your money back at most. To get more, you will need to take them to court, where the most you can get is all your money back, some of your legal fees, and if the judge is feeling generous then they may give you compensation or ...

P.S.

We only test drove a 206CC as there was a demonstrator available when we went to place our order.

I would suggest that you have a look in some American car magazines (Custom Car etc...). The UK is a growing market for imported American cars with lots of distributors working both sides of the Atlantic, they should know the best ways to ship, and what regulations the car needs to comply with, incl...

It is not specific about the age or even type, just states 206, but they do quote the reg and VIN number so at this stage I will give them a bit of credit, and will expect them to know that we have a CC.

Ours is a 2002 model.

I will get Lyndon to post the letter on the site.

I assume I am not the only one who has recieved a Recall notificiation from Peugeot? Apparently there is a risk of the ignition key fouling the steering column cowling - result is the ignition switch sticking in the start position. Looks like everyones car has to go in. On the bright side the letter...

Depends what you want to use the back seat for. If it is children then you can get away with it (I wouldn't even consider putting a baby seat in the back) I have had two adults in the back, but it is not a position that can be sustained for long, as the front seats need to be pushed forward (lots! -...

Insurance, carefull who you choose. Direct Line do not offer courtesy cars, and Churchill have a habit of charging just for enquiries. Also beware of the adverts in the back of magazines offering low insurance for modified cars, I know of two instances where people have tried to claim, and the insur...

It all depends when you notified them of the noise, if it was reasonably early in the cars life, then you have the law on your side. If however you delayed telling them about the fault, then the longer its left the harder it is to reject the car. Our car leaks, as we notified them two days after del...
