Re: Rear n/s quarter window mechanism terrible noise

If i remember correctly, all you need to do is get you fingers as best you can around the bottom and pull up. It is better to have some spare plastic clips as they tend to break with age. Once you have the trim off you will see the clips and they are always available on ebay for pennies.

Re: 206cc 2002

I had the same problem in a 2006 model, and there was no pullcord in place. I tried the pushing the Alan key in so many ways over about 3 days until i was trying with a screwdriver and all of a sudden i saw the parcel shelf move and i was able to manually close the roof. I have no idea what i touche...

Re: MOT Fail - Big Problem

Life can be very cruel, and all we can do is accept what we have as best we can. In a way we are lucky as we manage to survive quite well on the UK pension. At least i can still enjoy my car. I must also say i am very surprised at how good the 206cc 1.6 petrol is. It also has a nice turn of speed. I...

Re: MOT Fail - Big Problem

I bought my car during the winter to give me something to do. I have spent about £1000 on it and i payed £1000 for it so not a cheap car. However it was bought to renovate so i am happy. I am no longer young (78) so i will make the most of the car over the summer. I hope you find something nice to s...

Re: Rear wheel alignment question - 206cc 2.0

You need new bearings in axle or a reconditioned axle. I ordered a reconditioned axle from IL axles. It was from memory £190 plus £30 for the delivery and pick up of old axle after removal from car. First class service. The biggest problem was torque headed bolts that needed to be cut off as they we...

Re: 206cc 2.0 - Rear Brake Pads change tool

I changed the ones in my 2006cc 1.6 last year and i am 100% sure i used a wind back tool. I have just checked my orders and i ordered a wind back tool the same day i bought the brake pads.

Re: MOT Fail - Big Problem

I see my previous post still needs to be moderated, so no doubt it will be visible shortly. One thing i forgot about was the 2 reinforcing bars mentioned by gazza82. I can think of a more poetic word than pita. What i did was grind the heads off the bolts and then they came out quite easily with vic...

Re: MOT Fail - Big Problem

I bought an imaxle very recently for 206 cc 1.6 petrol. A complete pig to install, due to seized bolts. The axle is first class and the delivery charge £30 includes the return of the old axle. The delivery was very quick. I highly recommend the axle. By the way, i installed this myself and i am 77 s...

Re: Hi to all.

Hi IanL, Lived most of the time in Jhb area. Had a 21 acre small holding for 18 years until the problems started, then moved to Florida Glen Roodepoort. After i retired moved to the coast south of Durban. Now in county Durham where the houses are still cheap. South African Rands worth next to nothing.

Hi to all.

Just joined as i bought a 2006 1.6 allure, so i have something in the garage to keep me busy. Lot of work already done, including fitting a reconditioned axle, which was a pig of a job thanks to the stupid (in my opinion) torque headed bolts. Live in County Durham, retired, spent my entire working l...
