Re: Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 Newbie

Hello Steve, step back, take a deep breath, I would say. What we know is, the car was running in January because it had MOT. Your keys match the locks, cause they open the doors. When was the BCI changed? After the MOT was done? Then you have a problem which only a Peugeot dealer can solve or someon...

Re: Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 Newbie

Hello Steve, I did it with a locksmith because I still dont have the necesarry paperwork to do it at a dealer. As you are in a more comfortable position you can do it at the dealership. Some don't charge at all, some 30-60£. But you can't move the car I guess. That is a tricky one. There is a list o...

Re: Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 Newbie

Hello Steve,
welcome. Does the car beep when you leave the key in the ignition and open the door? If not, you need to reregister the keys with the BCI. But try both keys in the ignition. Sometimes there is luck. Luke

Re: right battery?

Hello Spitfire6, the battery: YBX5012 Yuasa Silver High Performance Car Battery 12V 54Ah HSB012 from Tayna. You will find all the data on their website. Fits perfect and of course looks like in your photos as Ian doesn't have any Photos in this post. I also changed the bulbs in the central display w...

Re: right battery?

Hello Ian, it seems to be that the case is much bigger than the actual size of the battery but the limiting factor is the metal strap. The above mentioned Battery is the maximum physical size you can fit with the strap. It now looks like in your photo apart from me having a different set of contacts...

Re: Hello from Morecambe

Sorry, I did order the Quartz 9000 5w30 cause I read the posts on oil before I ordered.. I am just unable to type properly. Also ordered the 286 lightbulbs and holders for the screen. All those 5p articles add up. But I had the first 3 hour drive today, partly with roof down. Everything is running s...

Window switch repair

Hello everyone, as I had a faulty window switch in my 206cc I ventured on youtube and found a video : "Peugeot 206cc windows colse doesn't work, problem resolved!" by a German Guy, hence the spelling. I followed his advice. Be careful, when you take the switch apart. There is a tiny spring for the r...

Re: right battery?

Thanks for the answers. I couldn't take the measurements as it was raining yesterday evening but I also have a metal strap over the top of the battery, just as on the photo from spitfire. I will try to measure today. The brake discs are on their way from Germany now and my friend will come up from B...

right battery?

Hello everyone, as my predecessor abandoned the project because he bought a camper van and mostly lives in Spain now, his battery seized to work and the electronic went haywire. He just managed to reboot everything but didn't want to spend money on a battery. Hence, the one in the car doesn't fit, a...

how much similarity to 206 ?

Hello everyone, I have been lucky to buy an almost finished restoration project which was abandoned by its previous owner. The downside is, there are a lot of 5p parts, like screws, attachments, clips missing, mostly under the bonnet. Before I decent onto our local scrapyards, my question is, will a...

Thanks for the welcome. Primed, sprayed some minor blemishes, repaired the wiper and washer, repaired the fuse box and polished her with the youngest one. One days work and a lot to see. Ordered the Total Quartz 9000 5w40 Fully Synthetic oil, will arrive on Friday. Need to find the technical Handboo...

Hello from Morecambe

Hello to all of you. I bought a slightly neglected 2003 206cc Allure 1.6 Petrol from a neighbour down the road four days ago. It has 86k miles on the clock and a lot of minor and medium issues but nothing too serious I hope. I have mot until June next near so hope is, I can fix everything. It came w...
