Re: Swapping lower arm - have to move subframe?
Hi all, Incase anyone finds this on google: Don't remove the lower balljoint before trying to take off the track rod end. You will waste time and have to put it back together! 1) Take track rod end off 2) Disconnect lower ball joint 3) Prepare for gearbox oil to go everywhere 4) Swear 'cause you for...

Horrific clattering from Throttle Body
Hi all, Have a weird issue - the throttle body is producing an absolutely awful clattering sound, akin to a bag of spanners. I've pulled the TB off and nothing is loose or rattling inside. The noise entirely goes away as soon as the MAP sensor is unplugged, but again, pulling the MAP sensor out and ...

Swapping lower arm - have to move subframe?
Hi all, Attempted to swap the nearside lower arm today. Managed to get it out of the hub no problem, but the bolts keeping it in to the subframe are too long. On one side it fouls the driveshaft and on the other it hits two brake lines. As well as having a lovely new stain on my drive where the driv...

Re: 206 1.6 HDI - failing to start after service
Hi all,
Turned out I had moved the fuel filter out of the way without realising it was a fuel filter, and introduced an airlock!
Attached a clear hose to the bottom of the filter, undid the drain valve, then primed and all is well! (sort of, see other posts)

Re: 206 1.6 HDI - failing to start after service
Didn't touch anything to do with fuel lines.
Is there any way I can verify the key and immobiliser? It does beep when opening the door. It feels like it's getting no fuel, but squirting a bit of wd40 in to the turbo inlet doesn't make any difference, leading me to thinking it could be immobiliser.

206 1.6 HDI - failing to start after service
Hi all, Signed up in a desperate plea for help! Serviced a family member's 206cc (1.6 HDI) today, which was oil & filter, air filter, new thermostat and coolant. Upon restarting, the car started up OK and idled for 5-10 seconds then cut out, as if someone had turned the key. It now cranks solidl...
