Ready for the summer!

Hi to everyone, just letting all know about work done over the last week. I had a leak in the roof hydraulics, after being told that someone could look at it and they would need the car for at least 5 days I decided to look myself, fortunately the good bit was that I found the ram lifting the roof o...

Re: VIN number?

But the 10th digit is the year build and mine is 4? I don't think so. My 206CC was built in 2005, and I do not have a 5 in my VIN. My 10th digit is a 4. NEWS FLASH: PM me for how if you are curious - your car build date is 22 October 2002, but the Warranty Start Date is 6/3/2003, which explains why...

Re: VIN number?

Seems weird perhaps again it is a French thing that they built my car a year after they gave it a number plate?
I did contact DVLA and now waiting for them to come back, who knows my car with reg YN03TFK might be re-registered to XX04XXX?
But I will look at the RPO number tomorrow.

VIN number?

The vin on my 206cc is VF32DNFUF42823712, the registration is on an 03, and according to GOV site it was first registered March 2003. At the moment running brilliantly :D Now the question, I hope someone can answer, when I put the VIN into several Vin decoders (the free ones) they all come back sayi...

Re: Boot lid not opening.

Thanks for the replies. Looked at the video and it is brilliant, so clear in the explanation of just how it all works, definitely one I will be watching again. Regarding the valve, as I actually changed the pump complete with the valve I am doubtfull but I will definitely check, I have the original ...

Boot lid not opening.

Hi to all, I hope someone can give an idea about this old problem. Replacing the back axle in November, as part of the job I used the boot rails as a way of tying up the calipers out of the way whilst changing the complete axle, for this part it worked great. To make life easier we had the roof open...

Re: M.O.T.

Thanks for the reply.
I think you have misunderstood, when I say about the wheels almost touching it is when the car is jacked up and when the suspension arm lowers down allowing the wheels to move forward so that they are close to the corner of the sill.

M.O.T.

At 8-30am this morning presented my, recently acquired, 206cc for its M.O.T. at our local ATS. Soon after starting the probe went into the exhaust, 2 minutes later massive sigh of relief as all green lights, emissions are good straight away. Well worth doing oil and filter change before MOT. Next, i...

Re: Drivers door weather strip.

Thanks for the replies. I think my conclusion is 'leave it alone' and accept the fact that the car is 15 years old.

Drivers door weather strip.

I am looking at taking off and checking, the weather strip on the driver's door as there are bumps in the rubber, as though there is rust underneath. Couple of questions that come to mind, prior to doing the job. How easy to remove the strip? Is the strip the same as fitted on 206 3 door? Any help g...

Re: Under seat wiring. Cured!

Just letting it be known.
The airbag light is OFF! bought a scrappy comms unit fitted and everything is great. I also found that the bird chirping sounds from under the bonnet were being made by the auxiliary belt idler, so new one and new belt whilst I was at it.
MOT a week tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply.
I do have pp2000 and another comm2000 is on its way, hopefully, that will cure it, if not I have booked an auto electrician who is out on 13th.

Under seat wiring.

Hi to all, I am going through the process of elimination in trying to rectify an airbag light. I keep seeing posts about the connection under the seats, but my 206cc 2003 1.6 does not have any wiring under the seats, the seat belt retainer is not a pretension just a straight metal bar. I have found ...
