Re: Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

Thanks, Lyndon,

Happy New Year to everyone and many roof-down drives in 2020.

BTW: The 206CC is 20 years old this year!

Re: Losing Oil but can't find a leak

I don't understand the reasoning behind the 20.000mile (30.000km) unless it was a marketing move. The car does consume oil (mine takes ~0.5l/1000km) so in the 30.000km you will change the oil at least 3-4 times. Now I haven't heard of someone that drives that much during the year. For me, this is th...

Re: Water pooling in the car.

So I crafted this tool from a paper clip IMG_20191217_084439.jpg and started poking around the drain holes that look like this, actually the center of the jack slot. IMG_20191217_151137.jpg About one full glass of water dripped out. I did the front one as well. I will have to craft a better tool fro...

Re: speedo problem

.This is a fairly common problem, the step motors in the instruments fail. Luckily they are relatively cheap to replace. I paid 15EUR for the works and 2x 10EUR for the step motors to a local shop to replace both the speedo (failed) and rev-counter (failing). The dude even threw in a replacement of ...

Re: Water pooling in the car.

Hi, Best to disregard my comments about petrol sloshing over the baffles in the tank! Martin A. Actually, that was my first thought as well, but at that time the tank was half empty and it was easy to test if anything changes by filing up. I will have to wait for the next weekend to check the drain...

Re: Water pooling in the car.

So today was a clear day, after 2 days of rain. I opened the roof (with a few crazy looks from neighbors @ +2Celsius) and removed the upper and side trim. The thing is there is no sign of water anywhere. The inner side of the body is dry, even some small leaves that have entered are dry. And when pu...

Re: Water pooling in the car.

Ha, ha... I'm in Macedonia so we call them windows (front and rear). However, I had seen the term quarter light previously so I know where to look. Unfortunately, it's raining constantly, it's not pouring down, but it doesn't stop...

I have high hopes for the weekend (fingers crossed).

Must have been a glitch, as it is visible now.
Thanks for the advice, I'll have to wait for a day without rain to do this.

Water pooling in the car.

Hi Everyone, I had an issue today after some rain fell down. When accelerating, I hear a slushing sound like water waves somewhere near the left back seat. There is no moisture or water in the cabin or trunk (thank god) but I suspect that water is pooling somewhere in the body or chassis. I still ha...

Re: Roof not working

From the pictures, it's definitely missing the protective plastic that guards the mechanism. This was probably removed when trying to fix it. This would imply that someone tried to fix it and failed.
Personally, I would walk away. There are certainly better options to purchase.

Re: esp

FYI- ESP stands for Electronic Stability Program, (Basically traction control) Actually, these are two systems: Stability control will try to correct understeer or oversteer by acting on the engine and breaks (by braking individual wheels as necessary) Traction control will lower the engine output ...

Close the roof - Winter is coming

1 week with no new posts...

Seems like the colder weather has forced everyone in roof-up mode.

Re: Shark antenna - replace current cable with new ones

Actually, there is a company here in Macedonia that makes custom-fit covers for various cars. They made seat covers for my old Twingo '97, by simply measuring the seats, no need to destroy them. On the other hand, you are probably better off finding an upholstery shop and checking if they can replac...
