Re: Water pooling in the car.

Well done, after so many words and thoughts a paperclip did the job! I'm sure this will be a great help to the many who have similar problems. Happy Christmas, Martin

Re: Water pooling in the car.

Hi, The thread regarding the sills is quite right, coincidentally I've just checked my drain holes (local garage kindly did this for me using their lift) and all were clogged with underseal and paint, allowing only a very small drainage. Two fresh holes were drilled, sealed with rust inhibitor and w...

Re: Water pooling in the car.

Hello Macedonia! Just occurred to me that when I've filled my petrol tank to the top it sloshes over the baffles and sounds just like water splashing in the back of the car. Could be a possible cause, or as you said earlier, maybe rain water collecting in the chassis low points and draining out as y...

Re: Water pooling in the car.

Great, I meant to say windows (plural) as in quaterlights not the rear window, but I guess you worked it out anyway. Hope the weather clears up soon in your neck of the woods, it's raining here in South Devon.

Hi, I've posted a reply which may be helpful but it seems to have disappeared; if you've got it, great, if not let me know and I'll repeat, Martin A.

Re: Water pooling in the car.

Hi, I had the very same problem! Remove the back seat and you will probably find water pooling in the wells under the rear window. This, in my case, was caused by the rubbers around the rear window becoming separated from the body work. I cured this by cleaning and thoroughly drying the area, carefu...

Re: new pug ownership

Hello from Kingsbridge, Devon. A coincidence, I too bought my 2003 in Plymouth in 2016 and am also (last week) 70 years young and, like yourself, had much work done over the last two years - too much to go into here as I'm sure you'll understand. Quite agree that it's a bit of an ego boost to thorou...

Re: Possible newby here

Hi Possible, I suppose the main thing to inspect is the roof, making sure that it works and seals properly. All the other usual inspections should be made. I paid £1300 for a similar model and have since spent in excess of £1000, so be prepared as these are no longer new vehicles. I wish you all the...

Coolant

Hi All, Just one small question, I have a 2003 1.6 CC and for the life of me cannot find the coolant bleed valve that I've been told is somewhere towards the front of the engine. I've located the rear valve behind the engine going to the heater matrix. Does the system bleed itself from the radiator ...

Re: wet floor

Thanks Col, I've done just that this morning (nice day for a change) also removed rear seats and side panel - all a lot easier than I first thought. Found a large puddle directly beneath the rear window motor in the gully where the electrics run. I think water was coming in at the back of the seal b...

wet floor

Afternoon all, My ongoing problem is a wet floor behind the passenger seat. I've silicone greased all rubber parts and have been putting on a half cover during wet weather, no leaks on the roof or window seals. Yet this morning I found a small puddle in the usual place. Could the rain be coming in v...

Re: Bulb Recommendations

Hi Robbo, Good question, I also wasn't over impressed with brightness of the standard bulbs. My local friendly garage supplied me with Lucas + 120% light booster xenon upgrade H7 bulbs @ £18 per pair. Just use in place of existing bulbs, no balancing or wiring required. You'll be impressed with the ...

Hi, I'm not too sure that the comm 2000 can be repaired (see posts from Capncol - he is very knowledgeable) I also had a similar problem with antipollution fault and juddering managed to fix this with throttle body aerosol spray and a petrol additive, about £25 altogether, and taking the car out for...
