Some weird electrical faults, now cutting out

I have a feeling I already know the answer to this (that it's a failing battery) but would love some bits of advice before I go and buy a new one. I have searched and found hit and miss answers so far. A few months back, the car speedometer started playing up. It would drop to 0 and stay there, some...

Re: Anyone had problems with sat navs in their 206cc?

If there is any sort of film on the windscreen, that can block the signal. We can't put the tomtom on the screen of the Clio .. we have to stick it to a side window! I always use ours in the right lower corner of the 206 .. Thanks for that gazza. I never got round to giving it a go. Will try tonight.

Re: Anyone had problems with sat navs in their 206cc?

Does either of the units have provision for an exterior aerial? The newer one does yes. I was very close to buying an exterior aerial for it, they're only a few pounds, but figured that the mount might help. Perhaps i'll give the exterior aerial a go, but I'm not all that keen about sticking it on ...

Anyone had problems with sat navs in their 206cc?

I bought my missus a vent cradle for her sat nav at Christmas as she stopped using it because she lost the suction mount. Immediately, I noticed the sat nav had real trouble when mounted in the car. If it had no satellite lock when getting in the car, it might never pick any up at all. I decided tha...

Good news. Half decent thrash and both pending faults have gone :)

Result.

Re: Are cheap lambda sensors worth a shot? Pre-cat

Difference in post and pre is the length of the cable ... which is part of the lambda circuit so don't just put two of the same on .. I think you will find one has a pale green plug and the other pale blue to identify them. I'd strongly recommend going with a BOSCH lambda ... I had an NTK on a diff...

Are cheap lambda sensors worth a shot? Pre-cat

So, partners car just went through the MOT. Everything wasn't plain sailing though and although it did pass on emissions (after a bit of welding and a very hard thrash), after clearing the codes and taking it for a drive, my OBD2 Scanner is saying there are two pending faults, Fuel Trim P1070 and P0...

Re: Encomnmy Mode Activated

have you actually tried jump starting? Checking the battery voltage isn't always the correct way to do this?

Re: Cleaning throttle body

I might blast some tappet additive in, do a Forte flush and even do a diesel flush. I've found a mix of diesel and oil to be a very effective way of breaking down internal gunk. Yes, I expect the additive is mostly kerosene (aka paraffin), which is similar to diesel. I've done oil + diesel flushes ...

Re: Windscreen Washer Pipe Snapped

OK, so fixing this wasn't too big an issue, but it was a bit of a pain. So the washer pipe runs down the drivers side of the bonnet and down the wing. Where the lines up with the wing, the pipe has been cut. I have a feeling it's probably popped out of the little holder which keeps it in place and b...

Windscreen Washer Pipe Snapped

So from one issue to another. My partner told me her windscreen washers haven't been working for a while, so last night I decided to have a look and sure enough, the pipe is actually cut. The water is sprayed down wing by the scuttle panel roughly and I've found one half of the pipe which is by the ...

Re: Cleaning throttle body

So an update. I went ahead and changed the coil pack. The car is driving better which is great

BUT

I'm worried this is the dreaded hydraulic tapper issue. It's only when cold (1 degree) and it's suffering all the symptoms.

Anyone know the models affected and what year?

Re: Cleaning throttle body

I'm shocked why it's so expensive tbh :D As a VAG user, the cables are about a fiver online haha.

Anyway, there's one on eBay for £89 i'll probably get that ordered now.
