Re: Variable Steering Wheel Stiffness - New Pump
Hey again! Sorry for the delay, had a few days off so I decided to join the gf in the mountains. The car performed a lot better than I expected, to be honest. As for the fact some air might still be in the circuit, I guess I'll wait and see if things change for the better. The issue's only a minor n...

Re: Variable Steering Wheel Stiffness - New Pump
Hey Slo, thanks for the load of information you were able to send my way. I've had my mechanic check the fluid and they said it was okay. I'd describe it as red with a hint of brown. As for driving the car without the belt, I only took it from the place where it broke down to the shop. Still, that m...

Variable Steering Wheel Stiffness - New Pump
Hello forum! I come to you, today, with a question about power steering and the strength needed to steer your 206cc in different climatic conditions. Before that, though, let's try to contextualize the whole thing. For the last year or so, my pug had trouble steering. I had the shocks replaced (all ...

Re: Rear driver's side window
Hello, Lewk! The rear windows work through a mechanism hidden behind the two trim panels at both ends of your passenger bench. Getting to it is a bit of a pain, you'll have to unscrew the bolts keeping the bench in place, pull out the sits and unclip the panels. You may find yourself facing a thin s...

Re: Possible AC Refrigerant Leak?
Any chance I could find a series of drawings of the A/C system somewhere? While a leak sounds like the most likely culprit, I also read that excessive pressure could lead the compressor to discharge the refrigerant as a safety mesure. Can you guys confirm/deny this? (The internet's not always the mo...

Possible AC Refrigerant Leak?
It always seems like cars pick the first days of summer to break down/misbehave, as if they did that on purpose. Here's the usual story I start each post with: on my way back from a trip to the hills, yesterday, I met a friend of mine who owns a 2001 MX-5. We started pushing our cars on the highway ...

Re: drivers side window wont close
Sorry, been a while since I checked the forum. I'm guessing, but I'd say the motor would finish its cycle and signal the computer that everything went well. I'll get back to you if I find more.

Re: Steering Wheel randomly feeling stiff
Pressure's fine.. but I will need to wait for the rest as I just replaced the MAP sensor I was speaking of in one of my other posts (student life means that basically killed my savings).

Re: Engine cutting out when cold
The culprit was a faulty/dirty MAP sensor.
These tend to collect dampness and just need to be cleaned/replaced.
It's an easy fix and roughly 100 £ did the job.
As always, thanks for your cooperation.

Re: Engine cutting out when cold
Sorry, I was just so busy i completely forgot to post. Accessory snapped out, the result was no power-drive, no A/C compressor and a "battery charging fault" message on the on-board screen. It was replaced and everything is fine. Car's been booked in a garage for a full oil change tomorrow...

Re: Engine cutting out when cold
I'll take some time tomorrow to check the battery and oil.. Now that you make me think of it, I'm unsure about the radio and will have to check that one as well.. Knew about the belt, it actually snapped recently (it was an old one) and was replaced with a new one.

Re: Steering Wheel randomly feeling stiff
Fluid seemed good, my mechanic took a look at it last time I took the car in and it was fine, I checked it again recently and there doesn't seem to be any kind of leak. There's no noise when turning, none that I can hear from the inside or from the outside... A weird thing that I noticed is that if ...

Re: How to bypass quarter light to allow roof top to open/cl
My window regulator quarter light (the little triangle window) in my 206cc is broken. Hence, it's stopping my roof top from opening since it can't detect if the quarter light window is down. How can i bypass this so that the roof can open/close? Is the glass itself broken or is the mechanism not wo...

Engine cutting out when cold
It seems like the Princess (I've taken to calling my 2002 1.6 80 KW Black 206 cc like that due to her being an high maintenance lady) doesn't really like the cold. In the last months (it started in November), the engine would struggle to start on a cold morning or randomly cut out when coming to a s...

Steering Wheel randomly feeling stiff
Hello people! Same car ( 2002 1.6 80 KW Black 206 cc - just got it to 120.000 KM), new set of problems. In the last few months, the steering wheel started to randomly "stiffen up" while driving. It would, at first, only happen in the city center or while making sharp turns (I live in a cit...
