My first roof catastrophe!
Well owned my CC for over a year now and I love it to bits! No problems at all other than General running costs etc So; yesterday I was happily reversing out of my garden, dropping the roof as I go (I know! I know!), pull under my washing line, a thing I've done 100's of times in this very same proc...

Re: Adios my summer forum newbies
yeah my 407 stuttered a bit under ehavy acceleration when air con was going..so i expect it a little...its just knowing how much is acceptable and that requires other drivers with the same engine.... forums are odd places... they are a wealth of knowledge but they also turn strange when new members ...

Re: Adios my summer forum newbies
i wasnt an enthusiast; but i am now! LOL
i notice you have a 2l...
does yours have a flat spot if your heavily accelerating with the aircon on auto and blowing cold?
found mine hitting a flat spot at about 2500-3000 revs when you floor it with aircon on...on ECO mode its fine.

Re: Adios my summer forum newbies
Looks like UK summer has ended now. I guess we wont get the influx of members joining now asking how to fix their broken roof. Not everyone would even dare to work on a car nevermind have the time and money, I actually enjoy it and my car was dirt cheap but it cost me a lot of money to sort out in ...

Re: air con causing flat spots
its really only present if you put your foot down! heavy acceleration from 2500 throuhg to just over 3000...then she picks up again.... im kind of guessing if you dont "drive it like you stole it" occasionally you might not tell anyway! LOL which is why its not a big issue for me anyway......

air con causing flat spots
on my 2l allure ive been trying to hunt down the cauyse of flats spots under heavy acceleration, round about 2800 thru 3100 rpm tried EGR which seemed to help (but looking back on it it might be coincidence with the weather) seems ive now nailed the issue... ive been running with AUTO on the air con...

This is after polishing....it's the depth of the metallics I'm now noticing and a lot of the misting of the lacquer is utterly...
Polishing
Bonnet on the CC was a bit of a let down when I bought her, slight misting to the lacquer and a few chips etc.
Took care of the worst chips but didn't pluck up courage to do more about the lacquer; until today.
Bought myself a cheap polisher from Argos and sone AutoGlym....
Wow!
What a difference!

Re: No Rev's no power to start with when you first start car
well my 2l petrol certainly does! LOL dont trust the garage to have tested the EGR...its such an easy test to carry out yourself. but its your call. the only down side is that you will need to have the engine fault light reset and the fault removed when youve unplugged the valve and tested. im not s...

Re: No Rev's no power to start with when you first start car
Petrol smell seems to quite common in pugs!
My 407 had it and I've had it a couple of times on the 206 as well.
How did you get the EGR tested?

Re: No Rev's no power to start with when you first start car
you will need to clear the error code once its shown up though, so be aware of that.
if it is EGR then replacement is about £80 and a 10 min job...you can blank and have ECU reprogrammed to remove EGR but not sure how much that will cost.

Re: No Rev's no power to start with when you first start car
have you tried unplugging the EGR valve? this will throw up an engine management light which will need clearing, but it will also instantly diagnose whether the EGR is faulty or not. as you look at the engine the EGR is located at top right rear of the engine; it has a simple plug in connection. the...

seat not tilting&sliding *fix*
my passenger seat wasn't operating the tilt/slide mechanism.. it would tilt and it would slide using the handles but not the full tilt forwards and slide forwards mechanism. had it out today and was surprised at the quick fix! thought I'd share in case others have the issue: http://i33.photobucket.c...

Re: EGR Blanking
Yeah, let the engine cool for an hour prior to blanking, and left the egr connected. Garage reckons the ecu needs programming to take off the egr. Even if it's just blanked. Code was an "exhaust gas" configuration error, had it cleared and done a 40 mile trip with no warning lights etc. Mi...
