Re: ABS Warning Light
You are absolutely right,it was the reluctor ring.If I had just taken the wheel off in the first place!I mean it was falling apart.Went to garage.Owner disappeared into his cave and unearth a new ring, ordered up a new CV joint and started straight away.Parts (he didn't charge for the ring) and labou...

Re: ABS Warning Light
Don't know what the make of scanner was but it was a garage owners and cost about £5000. I held the gizmo while he drove and the live readings were steady on three wheels but all over the place on the offside front. The fact that they varied means to me that it is the sensor not the wiring. The garag...

Re: ABS Warning Light
A decent analyser gave fault front offside sensor. As it seems only the back sensors are prone to rust problems I am assuming it is the sensor itself.

Re: ABS Warning Light
My Sealy VS8801 EOBD Code Reader gives no fault codes despite the ABS light being on. What faults with the system does this eliminate?

ABS Warning Light
The car is a 2litre petrol. When I turn the ignition on the various lights go off but not the ABS light. When I start up,but remain stationary,I get a beep and a screen message ABS Fault. When I move off I get a second beep and the same message. My general purpose diagnostic meter gives no fault codes...

Re: Airbag light - Oh no here we go again
The bl.... warning light came on again.Fortunately I remembered the cure from last time. There is a blue plug under the fuse box cover under the steering wheel. Two blue and two brown in,four yellows out.I opened and closed this a couple of times and the fault went.Next time it happens I will take the...

Re: Airbag light - Oh no here we go again
Sorry if I was a bit short but when you have been chasing an intermittent fault for a year and an MOT is looming that will take your car off the road one gets a bit snappy.

Re: Airbag light - Oh no here we go again
Blue block connector. To clarify, this connector is under the steering wheel not far from the diagnostic socket. There is an orange lead from it which if you follow it with a torch and mirror goes to the passenger airbag.Sorry I didn't make the geography more clear. The soldering work I have done is to ...

Re: Airbag light - Oh no here we go again
FOUND IT. The passenger airbag was on open circuit because the blue block connector (orange wire leads to the airbag) was not pushed in properly.I touched the connector and the fault disappeared which is when I realised it was not fully pushed in and has probably been like that since manufacture, un...

Re: Airbag light - Oh no here we go again
Looks as if you might be right.Put new ecu in and after clearing faults the one that came back was airbag on open circuit.

Re: Airbag light - Oh no here we go again
There are sundry faults.I was trying to clear them so that the one that reoccurred was the real one and not one generated by me messing about.Rang an airbag ecu specialist with the symptoms. He said it was the internal memory and that it could not be repaired.Found one by Breakers Yard for £20 so wa...

Re: Airbag light - Oh no here we go again
Connected diagnostic gizmo and first tried to clear the faults I had created by disconnecting the plugs under the seats and soldering them.Faults refuse to clear. Does this mean that the internal memory of the ECU is shot?

Seatbelt Pretensioner
I need to test the continuity of my pretensioners in case there is an open circuit which it causing my airbag warning light. Now a multimeter is 9volts and low ampage so I don't think it would fire the pretensioner but--------.Anyone,apart from a guy on you tube who had an open circuit anyway, done t...
