Re: Idling
It was just a jubilee clip holding mine on, so a small socket wrench to release & then it pulled off.

Re: Replacement back-box help please!
After raplacing the back box on mine and having it blow again within a few years, I've now gone for custom built stainless steel. It'll outlive the rest of the car & should work out cheaper in the long run, in fact it was cheaper than I expected. Just have a look for local custom exhausts.

Re: Idling
Maybe check for build up on the Throttle Body also. I found my idling better after giving it a clean last year.

Door Locking Arm - Stuck in fully locked position.
Hi all, I've decided to get the car back on the road since things are easing now but I've got a problem with the drivers door not opening. The key turns & you can hear the mechanism click, but pulling on the door leaver (inside & out) will not open the door. I've pulled back the panel on the...

Re: BSI Reset & Battery Disconnection Methods
Stupid question :) Battery is failing and I want to leave the car standing for a while. Disconnect procedure says to leave the drivers window open but obviously I can't do that if I want to leave it standing. Would leaving the window closed cause a BSI issue or should I buy a new battery now to repl...

Re: Crossbeam for jacking?
Can't seem to find anything. Perhaps just a galvanised steel U channel (as attachment) would do? I think a 1m length should be adequate enough, but my concern is the thickness. If it's too thin won't it buckle and create damage? Aaarrrgg, why isn't there more rear jacking positions so that axle stan...

Crossbeam for jacking?
Hi all, According to this page, it recommends using a crossbeam when jacking up the car when placing onto axel stands. http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/repair-206/206/info/gb/e2ak0vk3.htm I've tried searching and I can't seem to find one to buy anywhere. Guess I need to improve my googling skills. Any ...

Re: power steering noise
Check the power steering pressure valve. It's a known place for leaks :-

Re: 2.0 Throttle Body?
It is under the black box. Had to remove the joining air pipe, then there is another jubilee clip that you have to access which there is a "tunnel" to get to it through. Then the black cover pulls up and voila, the throttle body! Now it started to rain - Grr! Have to carry on tomorrow with...

2.0 Throttle Body?
Does the 2.0 have a throttle body? Or is the air intake only controlled by the ECU?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Engine RPM VS Speed
Fuel consumption is bad. It seems to do about 37mpg on runs 30miles+ but I do a lot of short runs <5miles so less than 34mpg.

Re: Whirring noise from wheel when cornering
I had a noise that I first thought was coming from the front wheels and had recently changed pads & disc so knew it wasn't that. When it was at the garage I had a good look underneath and found that the power steering pressure switch was leaking ever so slightly. Changed it, topped up fluid and ...

Engine Splutter : Linked to new exhaust?
Garage replaced exhaust from just after the cat to the back and since then I've noticed a small splutter when changing down gears from 3 to 2 but thought it was just something that might need a few days to stabalise. It seems to be fine when going up gears, only hear it when going down. So now 2 wee...
