REMOVAL - REFITTING ANCILLARY DRIVE BELT

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Belt tension measuring equipment SEEM C.TRONIC type 105.5 .

2 - DATA : ROLLER TENSIONER

AIR CONDITIONING

Fixed roller .

(1) Fixed roller securing bolt(s) .

(2) Belt tensioning bolt(s) .

(3) Fixed roller .

ALL MODELS

Fixed roller .

(4) Belt tensioner assembly .

(5) Belt tension adjustment nut .

(6) Tensioner roller securing bolt(s) .

3 - REMOVAL

Remove the front right-hand wheel .

Move aside the right-hand front mud shield .

Remove the sub-frame front right tie rod .

AIR CONDITIONING

Slacken the bolts (1) .

Tighten the bolt (2) to bring the tensioner roller (3) to the position of minimum tension .

ALL MODELS

IMPERATIVE : if the belt is to be re-used mark the direction of rotation ; measure the belt tension over the span (A) using the tool [1] before removing the belt, if it is to be re-used; if this is the case, tension it to the same value when refitting .

Unscrew :

Remove the ancillary drive belt (7) .

4 - REFITTING

IMPERATIVE : check that the roller turns freely (no play or tight spot) .

AIR CONDITIONING

Pre-tighten the bolts (1) to 0.1 m.daN .

ALL MODELS

IMPERATIVE : when re-using the belt, refit it in the direction of rotation marked during removal .

Fit the ancillary drive belt (7) .

5 - BELT TENSION

IMPERATIVE : when refitting used belts, tension them to the value recorded before removal .

AIR CONDITIONING

Fit the equipment [1] to the run (A) .

By slackening the bolt (2), tension the belt, to 114 ± 10 SEEM units .

Tighten the bolts (1) to 2,5 daN.m .

ALL MODELS

Fit the equipment [1] to the run (A) .

By tightening the bolt (5), tension the belt to 114 ± 10 SEEM units .

Tighten the bolts (6) to 9.5 daN.m .

Remove the tool [1] .

Turn the crankshaft 3 turn(s) in the direction of running .

Fit the equipment [1] to the run (A) .

Check and adjust the tension to obtain the values quoted .

Remove the tool [1] .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .
